ABSTRACT

This study was carried out  on examine the investment in agricultural property as a catalyst to rural development using Ibadan North Agodi Gate Local Government Area of Oyo state as case study. To carry out the study, 2 research hypothesis were posed. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The study was carried out in Ibadan North Agodi Gate Local Government Area of Oyo state. The population of the study comprised of the entire farmers from the study area State. The population size of the study was 200 farmers. The instrument for data collection in this study was structured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using frequency Table while the hypothesis were tested using Chi-square Statistical Tool SPSS v23. The major findings of the study disclosed that agricultural investment reduces the rate of unemployment in the country and investment in agricultural properties leads to rural development. Based on the findings the researcher recommends that there should be an agricultural policy reforms and accelerated investment in the sector through public-private partnership. And a bridge in infrastructure gap between rural and urban geography in a comprehensive rural-urban integration program.
